The Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Economic Development in charge of Privatization and Investment, Hon. Hajjat Aminah Mukalazi, has held discussions with a delegation from Spiro Electric Motorbikes on the company’s operations and its contribution to Uganda’s growing automotive industry.
The meeting focused on investment opportunities, innovation, and the role of sustainable mobility solutions in driving Uganda’s economic transformation.
Hon. Mukalazi underscored the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investors, particularly those advancing clean energy technologies and supporting local economic development. She noted that investments in electric mobility are key to promoting industrialisation, creating jobs, and reducing environmental impacts.

The delegation from Spiro Electric Motorbikes shared insights into the company’s activities in Uganda and highlighted the potential of electric motorcycles to provide affordable, environmentally friendly transport solutions while contributing to the country’s automotive value chain.
The engagement also explored opportunities for strengthening local content participation and expanding investments within Uganda’s automotive sector as the country continues to position itself as an attractive destination for sustainable and innovative enterprises.
The discussions form part of the government’s broader efforts to attract strategic investments that support economic growth, technological advancement, and the transition towards green mobility solutions in Uganda.
