Residents of Kivuriya Town in Nakasake North Constituency are celebrating a major milestone after the Government extended electricity to the area, fulfilling a long-standing request from the local community.
The electrification project follows sustained lobbying by Hon. Prof. Wilber Amanyisa Ahebwa, who has consistently engaged the relevant government authorities to ensure that Kivuriya Town is connected to the national power grid.
For years, residents and businesses in Kivuriya operated without reliable electricity, limiting economic opportunities, affecting access to essential services, and slowing development. The arrival of electricity is expected to transform the area by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, improving healthcare and education services, enhancing security through street lighting, and creating new employment opportunities.
Speaking about the development, Hon. Prof. Wilber Amanyisa Ahebwa thanked the Government for responding to the needs of the people of Nakasake North. He reaffirmed his commitment to continuing to lobby for more development projects, including improved roads, clean water, better health facilities, and expanded education infrastructure across the constituency.
Residents welcomed the commissioning of the electricity project, describing it as a game-changer for the community. Local leaders expressed optimism that access to power will attract investment, boost agricultural value addition, and improve household livelihoods.
