KAMPALA — TikToker Abdallar Bogere, popularly known as “True Leader,” has been remanded to custody following allegations surrounding a Shs7 billion theft claim involving National Resistance Movement (NRM) official Hadijah Namyalo.
Bogere appeared before Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court, where the case was handled by Chief Magistrate Ritah Neumbe Kidasa.
The prosecution, led by Chief State Attorney Joan Keko, presented the case against Bogere, leading to his remand as the matter proceeds through the judicial process.
The case has attracted public attention partly because Bogere previously worked with Namyalo before their working relationship reportedly came to an end several weeks ago.
According to information surrounding the case, Bogere had been working with Namyalo before she parted ways with him. The circumstances surrounding the end of their working relationship are now part of the wider public interest surrounding the case.
From working relationship to court
Bogere, who has built a following on TikTok under the name True Leader 123, has been active in online discussions and commentary on political and social issues under the influence of the office of the national chairman (ONC)
His previous association with Namyalo has added another dimension to the case, with attention now focused on what transpired after their working relationship ended and how the allegations concerning the Shs7 billion arose.
However, the circumstances should be established through evidence presented before court rather than speculation on social media.
The prosecution is expected to rely on evidence to support the allegations, while Bogere and his legal team will have an opportunity to respond to the accusations and challenge the prosecution’s case.
Shs7b claim attracts attention
The Shs7 billion figure at the centre of the case has generated considerable public interest, particularly given Namyalo’s prominent position within the NRM.
His remand should not be interpreted as a finding of guilt, as the law presumes an accused person innocent until proven guilty by a competent court.
The court proceedings will therefore be critical in establishing the facts surrounding the allegations, the alleged financial transactions and the respective roles of the people involved.

The case has also brought renewed attention to the growing influence of TikTok and other social media platforms in Uganda.
Bogere’s online identity as “True Leader123” has given him a sizeable audience, making the proceedings a subject of interest among his followers and members of the public.
The case comes at a time when social media personalities are increasingly becoming important participants in public debate, while also facing greater scrutiny over statements and claims made online.
speaking with the daily mirrorug, the Chief communications officer Kyeswa Hakim at the office of the national chairman (ONC) has warned all social media personalities and content creators to consider and make good use of there platforms to earn a living instead of abusing and insulting different personalities like hajjat hadija namyalo, kyeswa further advised the incidents of true leader to act as a standing lessons to even more others that are practicing the same habit of turnishing the image of namyalo.
For now, the matter remains before Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court, with Bogere in remand as the judicial process continues.
Further proceedings are expected to shed more light on the alleged Shs7 billion theft claim and the events surrounding the former working relationship between Bogere and Namyalo.
