uneb set to withdraw certain examination centers as it makes a last call for normal registration as deadline underway.

The Uganda national examination board has reminded all heads of examination centre’s across the country of the stupilated dates for normal registration of candidates that ends on Tuesday 30th/06/2026 were after a late registration will continue for the month of July which will attract a surcharge of 100% for the primary leaving examination and 50% for the Uganda certificate of education and the Uganda advanced certificate of education respectively.

uneb further says the fees for the late registration will be shs 68000 for ple, shs 246000 for uce and 279000 for the uace

miss kasule musamba speaking for uneb said that they do not expect any upe, use and upolet to register during the late registration period as those were required to register during the normal period.

heads of centers are advised to make use of the remaining time to ensure that all the learners in the respective candidate classes are fully registered so thet no learner who is supposed to sit for this year’s examination is left out

musamba further said that the total number of 1527867 candidates have sor far registered for all the three examinations ie ple, uce and uace. This is as compared to last year’s candidature of 1416448 indicating an increase of 7.3%in the number of candidates.

the board has cautioned school heads and directors against charging extra fee’s that are not prescribed by uneb and referring to such fees as uneb fees, “this is an offense under the uneb act cap 269 section 33 and all those who will be caught will pay a penalty of 40 millions or impresonment not exceeding 10 years or both” said musamba.

uneb will also withdraw examination centers of such schools and where a person convicted is a registered teacher, that teacher shall be derigistered and charged in courts of law
