KAMPALA — American evangelist and humanitarian Dr. Michelle Corral has officially opened the 3rd East Africa Fire & Anointing Pastors Conference at the Sharing Youth Centre in Nsambya, Kampala, where a packed hall erupted in praise and worship as she began her ministry to pastors and Christian leaders from across the region.
The two-day conference, running from August 24 to 25, has brought together pastors, ministers and Christian leaders for prayer, biblical teaching, spiritual renewal and leadership empowerment. Organisers say the gathering is aimed at strengthening the Church and equipping ministers for their work in communities.
Corral, the founder of Breath of the Spirit International Ministries and Chesed International Charity, returned to Uganda after previous engagements that have seen her ministry support Christian leaders and humanitarian programmes in the country.
The conference organisers say Corral has travelled to more than 50 countries through her ministry and humanitarian work, providing medical supplies, food, clothing and other forms of assistance to communities affected by poverty, conflict and disasters.
As she took the stage at Nsambya, the atmosphere inside the hall shifted into sustained praise, with worshippers responding enthusiastically to the opening ministry.
Her central message urged believers and Christian leaders to maintain their trust in God, particularly when faced with difficulties, uncertainty and challenges in ministry.
Corral’s return has been widely anticipated by church leaders in Uganda and other East African countries. Earlier reports indicated that the 2026 conference was expected to attract pastors and Christian leaders from across the region following previous editions that drew large numbers of delegates.
The conference is organised by Heal The Planet Global Organisation and supported by Corral’s Breath of the Spirit Ministries and Chesed International Charity. According to the organisers, the programme runs from morning until evening, with sessions focused on prayer, ministry, leadership and spiritual empowerment.
A ministry beyond the pulpit
Corral’s work in Uganda extends beyond preaching and pastors’ conferences.
Her humanitarian organisation has previously supported communities in refugee settlements, including Nakivale, Bidibidi and Imvepi, while also conducting medical and relief activities.
According to organisers, her humanitarian programmes have included medical clinics, food distribution, clothing, dental services and other assistance to vulnerable communities.
The conference also comes at a time when religious leaders are increasingly discussing social challenges affecting Ugandan communities.
At a press conference ahead of the conference, pastors called for stronger access to healthcare in informal settlements and encouraged churches to complement spiritual ministry with practical interventions such as medical camps. New Vision reported that the religious leaders also discussed family stability, peace and access to healthcare.
Corral’s ministry has also previously been associated with training and equipping pastors. Her organisation says she has trained Christian leaders in more than 50 countries and that her wider East African conference programme has reached thousands of pastors.
The 3rd East Africa Fire & Anointing Pastors Conference is therefore being positioned not simply as a gathering for worship, but also as a platform for Christian leaders to reflect on their calling, strengthen their ministries and seek renewed spiritual direction.
With the Nsambya hall filled with praise as Corral began her ministry, organisers expressed optimism that the two-day gathering would leave pastors and church leaders spiritually refreshed and better equipped to serve their communities.
The conference continues Tuesday at the Sharing Youth Centre in Nsambya, Kampala.
